Situated on the first floor of a commercial building in the Cedar Hill/Shelbourne Street area, Fit in Motion offers a private space where professionalism, comfort, safety and studio cleanliness are a priority. The studio features natural light and some soft lighting. All equipment is provided: yoga mats, towels, blankets, bolsters, blocks and balance pads. Just bring yourself. It is open 10 minutes prior to each yoga class encouraging students to come rest and clear the mind, to talk quietly to other students with whom they are building community or to check in with the instructor with any concerns or requests.
Learn the foundations of Classical yoga postures (Asana), breathing techniques (Pranayama) and other yogic practices by developing breath and body awareness. In Hatha Yoga you will learn to control your breathing in a relaxed and modulated way in order to provide focus in different postures. Each class is different with the emphasis on mindful breathing and the experience of the pose. Moderate/ Beginner friendly.
Hatha Tuesdays: 9:15-10:15am (60 min)
Hatha Thursdays: 9:15-10:30am (75 min)
Hatha Saturdays: 11:00am-12:15pm (75 min)
Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation as you are holding poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you. Most restorative postures are adaptations of classical yoga postures, but the supported and nurturing emphasis of each position allows you to relax longer periods of time than you might if you practiced the posture actively. Cultivate deep relaxation, self-awareness and healing through this graceful practice. Suitable for all levels.
Restorative Mondays: 7:45-9:00pm (Starting in November, 2019)
